3 biodegradable eco-friendly razors that are made from wheat straw, which is a by-product of wheat production and contain no toxic materials like petroleum-based plastic. The handle is ergonomically designed with a non-slip textured handle to give you better control for a more precise shave. For safety, it also comes with a cap and protective netted blade. Great for dermaplane/shaving to remove unwanted peach fuzz and exfoliate, eye brow trimming and shaping, or anywhere you need a precision shave. Great for men and women.
Each biodegradable razor has a life span of two months after the first usage. It takes 3 to 6 months to turn into compost in your home, and 1 to 2 months in a local municipal compost facility.
The EPA estimated that over 2 BILLION disposable razors end up in landfills each year! That’s about one million pounds of plastic waste leaching toxic chemicals into waterways, soil, or air. The razor blades will rust away into nothing, leaving behind the plastic handle for hundreds of years!
At this time there is simply no way to dispose of plastic razors in an eco-friendly way so how do we tackle this growing problem?
By changing how we choose to do things… Regular plastic is an oil-based product and can take up to a 1000 years to degrade. As it breaks down, it creates micro-plastic particles, which are tiny plastic particles, invisible to the human eye, that are ingested by humans and animals and absorbed by plants. Micro-plastics in the ocean are being mistaken for food and eaten by fish. Wheat straw on the other hand is not an oil-based product. It is a by-product of growing edible grains, so there is no additional harvesting procedures required, so utilizing the waste provides a great zero-waste option. As such it leaves behind no toxic material as it breaks down and requires a fraction of the time to biodegrade.
